Martha vs. Rose
This is for my group.
Who do you like better, Rose(Billie Piper), or Martha(Freema Ageyman).
Let's weigh the differences. Rose was with the Doctor longer than Martha is, because she is leaving at the end of this season. Rose was the type of person who would go off and randomly explore, even in the early episodes of season Martha on the other hand, sticks close to the Doctor. The Doctor, however, my friends and I have said this, seems a little more attached to Martha, seeing as he let her share her bed on the second episode of season three. Whether or not not this will be a big player in the future, nobody knows.

Martha has been more of staying on the Doctor's coattails than Rose, but the Kiss (Smith and Jones) and the bedroom situation (The Shakespeare Conspiracy) were both due to unusual circumstances, rather than any romantic feelings of the Doctor (Martha is another story) and this is confirmed when Martha leaves the Doctor (The Last of the Time Lords) she comes out and says she is leaving because her's is an unrequited love for him.
As for who I liked more I would rate the companions (of the New Series):
Jack Harkness
Rose Taylor
Sally Sparrow
Martha Jones
Donna Noble
I think she is an intellectual equal for the Doctor, is much more confident in herself than Rose, and refuses to allow the Doctor to be superficial just to protect himself. (One of my favourite moments is at the end of 'Gridlock' where she forces the Doctor to discuss what the Face of Boe said through the cunning plan of sitting down and not moving until he talks to her.) I also think she has better one-liners than Rose did:
That said, I've only seen the first three episodes with Martha. She may end up irritating me and I'll have to go back to Romana 2 as my favourite companion. ;-)
